August Goals

I recently was browsing through some wonderfully written blogs, and found one that started talking about goals for the month. I love having goals. The thought of having a goal helps me strive for it even that much more. I know it’s not the beginning of August, but that doesn’t mean you can’t start. Last month I managed to complete a goal that took me a few months to complete. You can read more about it here. So, my goals for August are:

  • Stay more active with my blogging.
  • Keep working out.
  • Complete a new “28 Day Challenge.”
  • Try to meal prep.
  • Stay organized and use my bullet journal more.
  • Keep being happy.

These are things that I’m trying to be more conscious about. Sometimes writing them down makes them feel more real in a sense. Out of these goals that I decided on, I think the last one is the most important to me. Trying to keep my soul happy. During this pandemic it may seem a little harder to do, but I’ve been trying to find different things to do. Some things that I like to do are yoga, working out, hang out with my family, write, and play some video games. I find that these activities help me find happiness in the days. After 206 days out to sea, my old ship, the U.S.S Dwight D. Eisenhower (CVN-69) is finally back home. When I was deployed we did 90 days out to sea, no port calls, nothing. To be out there for 206 days, I know they were at each other’s necks but also relying on each other to make it home safely and in one piece. I’m glad they’re back home, safe and sound! After a busy morning of bringing my cat Solo to the vet, I decided to workout. I started off with my HIIT workout, then walked my pup Rex, did weights with my mom and then finished with Yoga.

I was debating whether or not I wanted to workout because I was feeling less than motivated. To be honest, whenever I feel like this, I try to find any excuse not to work out. Today, I pushed through that. I pushed through the stress and the feeling of not wanting to do anything.I’m glad I did. Doing the workouts, then winding down with the walk and Yoga, I had more energy and felt happier. My mind feels clear and I feel more productive.

If you start to feel that kind of negative energy, do something to occupy your mind. Try working out, reading a book or basking in the some. Do something to fill your body with more positive energy.

What are some of the things you do to clear your mind and bring positive energy into your day?


I have done thirteen days out of fourteen. It’s low impact, quick and effective.

For me, this is a nice Yoga practice after a workout or simply just because. Stretch those muscles and relax.

Happy National Ice Cream Day!

Today we get to celebrate all this dairy goodness! Celebrate by having ice cream any way you would like. Banana splits, ice cream shakes or just a scoop in a cone. My favorite flavor would have to be mint chip from baskin robbins. Whats your favorite flavor?
